How does this new incentive work? For one-bedroom purchases, Merrick Manor developer The Astor Companies will provide a contribution equal to a 3% discount from the residence’s list price. For two-bedroom purchases, that contribution would be equal to a 2% discount.
Buying mortgage points is an important way to keep mortgage rates manageable in a consistently increasing interest rate environment. Borrowers generally purchase points in 0.25% increments at a cost of about 1% of the mortgage amount. These payments are typically made at closing.
