CNBC’s Marcus Lemonis: Build “Generational Wealth” Through Real Estate

CNBC’s Marcus Lemonis told a crowd of over 5,000 Miami-area real estate professionals at this month’s The Real Deal South Florida Forum that real estate is “the single tool that can change somebody’s life” and the key to creating “generational wealth.”

Lemonis, CEO of Camping World and star of CNBC’s “The Profit” and HGTV’s “The Renovator,” was the keynote speaker at the 2023 Forum. The Miami native provided insights on his approach to real estate investing.

“I look at real estate as the single greatest asset to create generational wealth for every single person in this room,” he said. “Real estate to me is the gateway to true wealth more than anything else.”

To further demonstrate the wealth-building possibilities of real estate ownership, Go Banking Rates tracked the average U.S home price from 1963 to 2022. Looking at the last 30 years, the average cost of a home surged from $121,500 in 1992 to $454,900 in 2022.

The key takeaway: if you approach real estate ownership from a long-term perspective, especially in a desirable market like Coral Gables, you stand to benefit greatly from long-term value appreciation.
