MIAMI — According to the new 2016 Profile of International Home Buyers of MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI) Members conducted by MIAMI and the National Association of Realtors (NAR), foreign home buyers spent more on South Florida homes and purchased more local residential properties in 2016 than the year before.
The fifth annual survey, which includes data from Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties, ranks countries of origin and highlights key characteristics of foreign buyers.
“Our new South Florida international real estate report shows a more diverse group of countries purchasing Miami real estate,” said Christopher Zoller, the 2017 MIAMI chairman of the board. “Miami continues to be one of the world’s top destinations for international home buyers.”

There is no better place to retire in the country than Florida, according to a new report from WalletHub, and the state's real estate market stands to gain big because of it.
Basing its analysis on more than 30 data points, the ratings website ranked all 50 states (and Washington, D.C.) on their affordability, quality of life and quality of healthcare – a cumulative of all three put Florida right at No. 1, directly in front of Wyoming, South Dakota and Iowa.
Florida was ranked modestly for quality of life (No. 11) and healthcare (No. 24), but its major selling point was its affordability; WalletHub ranked the state No. 1 after a review of its adjusted cost of living, the cost of in-home services and adult daycare, and its general tax friendliness, as well as its more specific tax friendliness on pensions and social security income.
Retirees and Florida's housing market
But why is this good for Florida’s real estate market?
The Tour of Kitchens starts with the Opening Event from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Snaidero Kitchen & Design, which is where you will check-in to receive your wristband (required to enter each home) and the Tour of Kitchens program booklet (which contains the map and addresses of all the Tour stops).
At Snaidero, you may enjoy breakfast, coffee and mimosas while you browse the store’s showroom. Beginning at 10:00 AM, you may begin visiting the Tour stops. The stops will be open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and you may visit them in any order you like. Each stop will contain a free food sampling from a local restaurant, kitchen-related items for purchase and a stunning table-setting display by a local store for dining room inspiration.
